You lighten up my heart...

Lust: Crave, Hunger, Covet, Yearn

This is strictly a LUST post!

Surface to Air. I really want good pair of wedges. Preferably gray. Preferably comfortable. Preferable these.

One 1930s. This dress makes me want to shove flowers in my hair, run around a deserted forest, and have my prince come rescue me. Hmm...perhaps I should tell George to set it up. Lol.

Unknown. This screams Sex and the City to me. I think that's why I love it so much. Really, I just want gorgeous diamond studded clutch I can wear with my little black dresses.

Tashkent by Cheyenne. My jaw dropped when I saw these. I love how the ruffle looks like it's throwing up all over the foot. And I have a weakness for anything that wraps and ties.

Balmain. If I could have any anything in the world, it would probably be Balmain's recent lineup of studded everything. This vest makes me crazy.

Balmain. Again. Makes me sick. But it's truly inspiring and I can't wait to be motivated enough to try creating my own.

Alexander Wang. This shoe reminds me of those dogs with the really long hair. So long, it covers up their faces. So cute, but yet so fierce.

Jeffrey Campbell. Cut-out anything makes me gaga. I tried to send the link to my babes, and hopefully he'll consider it. This ongoing recession is driving me nuts.

****************

In other news. One of my dearest, bestest friends is in town. I cried when she left. And I cried again when I saw her. It's been two years. So we met up with a couple of our girlfriends at Lala's Grill in Studio City. Good friends, New friends, Amazing food--all in all, it was a great time to be had. And it was wonderful to see her-even if it was only for a day.

Should I just keep chasing pavements?

Just to warn all of you...this is going to be quite a long post. I haven't been blogging very much, and when I do it's just pics of what I wore, or the latest thing I want to purchase. And I know it's a little late but I wanted to talk about Sunday night's Oscars. There were so many great surprises, I don't even know where to begin. I really loved all the new changes that were made, especially regarding the acting categories. If I had those legends appear and rave about me the way they did with the nominees-you would have an extremely hard time getting me to calm down. I wouldn't know what to do with myself-I'd be a complete wreck. I was so happy to see Kate Winslet win. But I was kind of surprised that Mickey Rourke didn't win. He had been winning at every other awards show, and this is definitely his year-so that was a shock. And lastly-I was very proud of Hugh Jackman. He made the show so exciting, and uplifting. I hope he gets to host again.

Now onto what most of you care about-My Best and Worst Dressed List. I'm going to start with the Worst:
Worst Dressed

5.) Sarah Jessica Parker in Dior Haute Couture-I'm not going to lie. At first glance, I was kind of pleased. But as I saw more and more and more of it-it kind put me off. I've never been a fan of the Princess dress. As a kid, when everybody wanted to look like Cinderella-I wanted to look like Princess Jasmine. So, I never really understood the pouf look. Plus, her breasts are way too big for this dress. It kind of looks like she can't breathe.

4.) Jessica Biel in Prada- See I wouldn't have too much of a problem with this dress if it wasn't for the those stupid marshmellows coming out of her dress. For Jessica Biel, simple is almost always better. And even though the cut of the dress, and the color is pretty simple-that little "surprise" in the front, was just off-putting.

3.) Vanessa Hudgens in Marchesa-"Oh wow, that is a really pretty dress...oh wait...wait...omg! That's hideous!" If this dress hadn't puffed out at the end, it would've been so much better. It could've even been on my top 5. Well, who are we kidding? I absolutely despise Vanessa Hudgens and everything that has to do with High School Musical. And just the fact that they're invited to this thing, amazes me! Baffles me beyond belief!

2.) Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad- This girl just needs to stop. Her dress not only looks like a wedding cake topper, but it also makes her look so much older than she is. I'm so sick of these little girls trying to look adult. Geez, embrace the teenage years.

1.) Beyonce in House of Dereon-This dress is just so FUGLY. The gold and black is a pretty combination, but it just looks messy on her. I understand supporting your own line, and that's great for the Grammys. At the Oscars, it's a totally different kind of vibe. I just thought her dress was so wrong for the event.

Best Dressed

5.) Kate Winslet in YSL- She looks so old hollywood glam. The hair reminds me so much of Grace Kelly. The dress is very sophisticated and I absolutely love the lacing draping down the side of the dress. But the reason why she's number 5 is because the colors are just so drab, and a bit lackluster. I've definitely seen her in better dresses at Oscars' past. She still can do no wrong in my book, though.

4.) Reese Witherspoon in Rodarte-I love the colors of this dress. And the neckline is so awkward and off, but I love it. It's unique, and very unlike Reese. I wish I could've gotten a better picture of her, but she didn't walk the red carpet-which I thought was weird. But I loved the way the dress flowed on the stage, and it was such a nice surprise.

3.) Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive- She was glowing. I was so pleased, because I hated her dress at the Golden Globes. But wow, she looked like an old-school movie star. She looked like an Oscar. The fish scales was very reminiscent of Marion Cotillard's dress from last year, but since she was considered the best dress from that year-I guess it makes sense she would want to copy that. I wish one of these days, she would just let her hair down.

2.) Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab- This is what I call classic black. I love the fact that she coordinated it with Emerald jewelry. The focus went to her face, which is absolutely gorgeous to begin with-and the simple black dress, with the sexy slit-just makes the look so complete. No wonder Brad Pitt never gets tired of looking at her.

1.) Natalie Portman in Rodarte- There are two women wearing Rodarte on my list. I'm going to give this designer more attention. When I saw Natalie Portman wearing this...I just about died. Not only did she do a pop of color, in a sea of greys, navys and creams-but she did it with pink. A very risky thing to do while standing on a red carpet. She looked so understated sexy, and princessy without the fuss. It was gorgeous.

So there are my thoughts. Last night...was so much fun. The most fun I'd had in quite a long time. The entire cast and crew of Anything Goes went to see Minsky's at the Ahmanson. It was such a great memory to add to the already great memories I've gained with all of those people. As far as the show's concernced-it was okay. I was mostly wowed by the ensemble burlesque numbers than I was with the leads. But still, it was a great theatrical experience.

What would you do, if I sang out of tune...

I felt like being androgynous today. I couldn't stay away from the brand new red lipstick I purchased yesterday, though. This is what I do, when I'm bored at school. Super excited about bloggin' my Oscar picks for Best and Worst dressed later today. Actually, it might not happen til tomorrow, because I'm going to be super busy the rest of the day. Who else saw the awards last night...it made my night! Kate Winslet finally got the recognition she deserves.

It's lunch time and I have no idea what to eat...hunger ensues. All I've had today is a piece of chocolate cake.

Just Dance...

Photobucket

This is me fantasizing living in the gorgeous house I was in last night. My friend Chavonne had a party in the hills of Tarzana, and this is what I wore (sorry the picture is blurred; I had to crop it from another pic-hence I had to sharpen the hell out of it, and this was the best I could do). It was definitely a night much needed, since I feel like lately all I've been doing is school, rehearsal, and back again. I wanted a chance to just relax and have a good time. And that is exactly what I got. So thank you, friends who came out last night to hang. It was a blast.

Current Inspiration:

As an Actor, as well as a Makeup Designer, I always try to find new ways to create new faces. I stumbled upon these pics on Krisatomic and immediately fell in love. I might have to recreate it and ask the husband to take some shots.

I really need a haircut. I want to just chop it all off, and for the show I'm in right now, that would be ideal. It's just that, I graduate in May-and I've almost always pictured myself wearing my cap over my long, flowy, locks. I dunno. I guess, I just need to trim it or do something to get rid of the rat's nest.

Fashion Week was awe-inspiring. I wish I was there.

Some highlights:

Although, I would look best in Yigal Azrouel's line. I must say...

You kill me with this dress, Alexander Wang...you really do.

It's a glorious glorious day! The sun is shining, it's not too cold. I adore the weather right now, for it's perfection. I hope it lasts. It feels weird blogging these days, because school/rehearsals has officially taken over my life, and so I love the times I get to just relax and update for ya'll.

The Oscars are this weekend, and I'm not sure if I'm able to celebrate it to the fullest. I'll be doing makeup for a show that day until about 6. Hopefully, I'll finish beforehand, and get to just sit and be a wino for the rest of the evening-and drool over Robert Downey Jr.

Photobucket

He sure is dreamy.

Taylor Momsen in Siwy Jeans. I really need a good pair of charcoal gray skinnies. I love the way she dresses, but man-she needs to rethink that haircut. And does anybody know when new episodes of GG are coming back? I'm having withdrawals...

P.S. Happy 31st Anniversary to Mom and Pop. They're in Love. And I love them. So friggin cute.

Beggin' you for Mercy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

(From WhoWhatWear)

Why must I do this to myself? When I saw those white Balenciagas I pretty much died...I'm so sorry I haven't posted since Valentine's Day. I've been 1.) extremely busy, since rehearsals for Anything Goes have begun, and 2.) I don't have anything remotely exciting or appealing to post about. With the weather being what it is-I haven't had much of an opportunity to take any pretty pictures of myself (and outfits) because of my laziness. So I'm quite sorry.

I wish I were in New York for Fashion Week. Sigh.

I guess I'll end with this lovely picture of SJP...

I wish I could pull this look off...alas, I would need her legs. And that's just not possible. Haha.

My Life Would Suck Without You

Forever United (pic from 4/17/2008)

Geo and I don't usually celebrate Hallmark holidays such as Valentine's Day, because we feel like you should love and appreciate the person you're with every minute of each day. So he and I are having a very low key V-day, which is super fine with me. I just can't wait for him to get home from work. I love you, George. ♥

Photobucket

This was last night. Geo and I saw Bill's New Frock over at my school, and it was freezing. I must've been wearing 5 layers. Well, anyhoo-sorry about the bad image quality-it was taken with a camera phone. I love the composition though. Leave it to my babes, to take interesting pics even with a cam phone.

I hope everyone has a great day! xoxo

This hurts I tell you so...

The Interview issue with Mary-Kate Olsen has finally arrived. I'm much more of a fan of Ashley (I just think she puts things together a little better) but I am in much adoration of the way the shoot is styled. There is something robotic yet ethereal about it. I don't know...

Today has been kind of an awful day. I wish people would just shut up, and not be so opinionated of other people's lifestyle and beliefs. I think they do it to make themselves feel better or to feel superior. Whatever the motive is, I think it's immature and just hateful. I don't wish to ever surround myself with people like that. But that aside, Geo and I got stuck in East L.A. for 3 hours this morning and I didn't get a chance to go to class. Boo. Also, there was this girl there carrying a Marc Jacobs bag I was totally eye-ing. She must've thought I was crazy. Haha.

I need to calm myself and try to think of things that make me happy...

Chesterfield sofa. Sigh.

I didn't even know these existed!!! This will definitely save me some money.

While the bf and I were watching Top Chef last night, they had them cook "last meals." It got me thinking about my last meal, and what I would have...I think it would be a pizza with mushrooms and tomatoes. My fave. Mmm...

The Sun ain't shining no more...

Photobucket

Photobucket

The title of this blog actually contradicts this post, since the sun is shining again in all it's wonder-hallelujah! I've been enjoying the 45 degree weather L.A. has been having lately-playing in the rain, and layering, and wearing scarves, etc...but I also miss wearing short tunic dresses, not worrying about my shoes getting wet, and basking in the sunshine. Today was a great day. I went to my class, and then enjoyed my afternoon with my best friend, Kate. Lunch at California Chicken Cafe was exceptional. I have been craving it for so long, since last week, and was extremely happy when I was finally able to have it. I always get their Asian Chicken salad. Yummy!

The weekend was amazing as well. It was rainy, so Geo and I stayed in the apartment and cleaned, and watched movies, and ordered pizza, and it was beautiful. I can't wait for the weekend. It's the only time when both of us can really enjoy one another's company.

Macy's was having a great sale on Sunday. Practically all their shoes were 60% off, and if you're wearing red, they give you an additional 20% off. I found these ridiculous Marc Fisher lace-up boots, that were originally $210, and got them for $45. How 'bout that!!! I'm actually wearing them in the pictures above. I needed to break them in a little bit. They're still pretty comfortable though. Um...let's see...everyone has been asking where Nicole Richie is selling her jewelry line. The last time I saw 'em was at Kitson at the Americana. I didn't see the headpiece though. :(

Also...
What do you guys think of the yellow? Yay or Nay? I've been getting a lot of positive responses, but it's also much brighter than this in person, so...yeah.

Photobucket

Hope this finds you all well!

Please Please let me get what I want...

Primark SS 09

I love ALL of it. But I especially want the pink dress on the left. How perfect would that be for Valentine's Day?! I always thought it was cheesy to wear red or pink on that day-but I'm thinking this year, I'm going to go all out. I don't care if Geo barfs from the cheesy-ness, I just want to play around. Who knows, by the time he gets home from work, I might not want to dress up too much. So, who knows...?

House of Harlow headpiece
I really really really want this headpiece. Every time I see a picture of Nicole Richie wearing it, I think-"How amazing would that look on my long raven hair?" haha. It would though, especially if I pair it with all of my boho dresses. But perhaps, I'll wait till it gets a little hotter.

I had an entertaining past couple of nights. I went to my hometown last night, to see my sister perform at my old high school. She was amazing. She sang with such subtlety, but it was incredibly touching at the same time. I teared up a little. And then, was so overcome with emotion, that I stood up immediately afterward and screamed-"I friggin LOVE YOU!" It was nice to spend some time with her.
And then tonight, I saw probably one of the best plays I have ever seen at my school. I was so into it. I was very pleased, satisfied, and actually surprised by how I was feeling. It was nice.
