Now my life is sweet like cinnamon...

A week before my 27th birthday, I chopped off all my hair. My hairstylist took off almost 10 inches, that's how long my hair had gotten. And I got bangs. When I think of fall/winter, I always think of bangs. But for the last 3 years, I had kept my hair long, and as much as I love it that way I knew it was time for a change. So far so good. I'm really loving how easy and fast I can get ready.

As part of my early birthday gift, my hubby took me and my sister to Disneyland. I had been talking about it for quite some time now, since I'm starting to feel older (now that I'm nearing 30) and really wanted to do something young and fun. It was definitely a nice surprise and was so nice getting to spend the day with 2 people I love most in the world. Not to mention, it was pretty empty for Disneyland standards, and we got to ride everything we wanted twice!

I have more pics from other celebrations throughout my birthday week, that I cannot wait to share them with all of you. I'm so thankful for another year on this planet, and I'm super excited for what awaits around the corner.

When a boy loves you, oh he loves you so much.

It's been such a lovely summer. Yes, the weather has not been pleasant. And yes, the thing I hate the most apart from pickled anything, is sweating. But I've been having a grand ole time, which brings me to why I haven't really had time to blog. Apart from that and working, it's been a whirlwind.

These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago, when my family and I went to San Diego for the weekend for my Uncle's wedding. It was so nice being by the water, relaxing and spending time with the people I love most. Wish I could do it more often.

Anyhoo, can't believe I'm working on a Holiday. But at least I got a chance to blog whilst at the office! Hurrah!

What I've been living for...

I've gone away again...my heart and my head have been swept up by the summer Olympics. As it only happens every 4 years, I'm glued to my couch every evening after work catching up on what happened in London earlier that day. Staying away from all things Olympics, when you're sitting in front of a computer all day, is NOT easy. I don't want to know the outcome of a race London time, I want to watch it for myself. So I have to twiddle my thumbs, and wait it out. USA has been doing so great. Incredibly proud of my beloved America.

Apart from working a lot and being a couch potato, I've managed to sneak in some fun every now and again, as evidenced from my photos above. Sister dates, love dates, family dates, and a helluva lot of food. Sounds like a perfect summer to me! Can't believe there's really only a month left...and I have not once put on a bathing suit. : /

Tell me I'm your National Anthem...

Hello y'all! I realize that this is a very late 4th of July post-11 days late to be exact-but late is better than never, right? And considering this is my 2nd favorite holiday of the year (1st is Christmas, of course!) I had to blog about it. So here it is, in all of it's red, white and blue glory. I started prepping for it 2 weeks in advance by making my own flag shoes. I was inspired by one of my best friends, who purchased a pair of plain white Toms look-alikes at a Rite Aid of all places-and customized it with her own art. I saw a picture of the actual Flag Toms selling on their site for $70. Absolutely did not want to spend that much money, so I took a red and blue sharpie to the plain white ones I got at Rite Aid, and there ya have it! I was pretty friggin pleased with the result.
Kate had her annual 4th of July party in their beautiful backyard, and I was beyond excited to see that she had put up her huge flag, just for me! Needless to say, it created a wonderful backdrop for a lot of our pictures. And the food...omg, the spread was beyond amazing. That was pretty much all I did at the party- was eat.

Could you tell I was going for a very retro feel with my look that day. My curls had died by the time I got to the party. But I was super inspired by Lana Del Rey. Especially after seeing her National Anthem video.

Hope you all had a lovely Independence Day! Can't wait for next year! Xo.

Kiss me hard before you go...

Hello lovelies. I have been having quite an amazing summer so far, so apologies if I have been deserting this ole blog again. I'm way behind as usual, as these pictures are from about 2 weeks ago. My sister's best friend, Veronica came to LA to visit for a week, and I took them out for a day to experience what LA has to offer. We did the usual shopping, eating, etc...but I took them to Yamashiro's Farmer's Market - where we got to eat some amazing food whilst looking over Hollywood. All in all, it was a pretty packed day and I loved being their little tour guide.

Also, the amazing boutique where I used to work, now has a website!! They've got amazing new pieces for the summer, so go check it out!

Heaven's in your eyes

Ok, I'm back. Here's the thing...there was a moment in time, about a month, where there was nothing I wanted to do LESS than blog. I felt really bad about it, because I felt like I was abandoning something that has been in my life for a very long time. But it's also very time consuming, and I found the aspect of working and blogging kind of tedious and exhausting. However, I'm back...there are no promises on how often I will be blogging. But I definitely don't want to feel pressured in having to do it on a daily basis. I also have a tumblr, which I feel is a little easier to maneuver around. Please check it out if you want :)

For now I leave you with pics from yesterday. We finally got around to celebrating my love's birthday! So we did our usual, dinner, movie (Prometheus) and window shopping. I debuted my new hat, which received many compliments throughout the day. It was a much needed, very relaxing day-and the movie was beyond perfection. I'm not much of a sci-fi geek, but when it comes to Ridley Scott-SIGN ME UP!

American Woman

Hello all! I know it's been quite a long time since I've blogged, but life has thrown me a pretty crazy last couple of weeks. First off I started a new job. I'm currently working for an amazing fashion and lifestyle company that allows me to have the flexibility that I've been craving for a long time. I love being able to go to work in the morning, then have the rest of the day to do what I please-whether it be auditioning or acting classes, or getting to walk in the rain with my babe-which is exactly what we did today.
As much as I love coming into the offices in the morning, and having my own desk-I cannot wait to start working from home. Maybe one more week. I still have so much to update on my computer. But other than that, life's been pretty sweet.
