What I've been living for...

I've gone away again...my heart and my head have been swept up by the summer Olympics. As it only happens every 4 years, I'm glued to my couch every evening after work catching up on what happened in London earlier that day. Staying away from all things Olympics, when you're sitting in front of a computer all day, is NOT easy. I don't want to know the outcome of a race London time, I want to watch it for myself. So I have to twiddle my thumbs, and wait it out. USA has been doing so great. Incredibly proud of my beloved America.

Apart from working a lot and being a couch potato, I've managed to sneak in some fun every now and again, as evidenced from my photos above. Sister dates, love dates, family dates, and a helluva lot of food. Sounds like a perfect summer to me! Can't believe there's really only a month left...and I have not once put on a bathing suit. : /

I know what you all are thinking... "Finally, an outfit post!" It's been quite awhile. I don't think I've done  an outfit post the entire month of February and for that I apologize. This morning, Maeghan and I went super thrifting. She always takes me to the greatest places, these hidden gems-that I could spend hours digging through. I found some amazing pieces that I cannot wait to showcase on here. We both ended up wearing velvet kimonos, which was funny. Great minds think alike :)
This has been quite a busy month for me. My best friend is getting married in TWO DAYS! I loved being able to be apart of such a beautiful process. Helping her in any way I can has been the greatest feeling, because I just want her to have the best day. I cannot wait for Saturday!
Oh, and if anyone is wondering what my shirt says-it's a Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet:

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume. The sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite.

I'm back. I'm sorry for the long hiatus. I know I haven't posted anything new in 2 weeks...there has been a lot going on in my personal life lately. Of course, I'd really rather not talk about it on here and weigh you guys down. But I will warn you all, there are going to be a lot of changes going on in my life in the near future. I hope the changes bring a lot of good and strength in me, and will hopefully help me evolve into an even better human being.
In the meantime, I'm finding solace and satisfaction in my family and my friends. Today I finally dug myself out of the hole I created, and had a date with one of my girlfriends. When it comes to vintage hunting and thrifting, Maeghan is my girl. I have discovered so many hidden treasures in LA because of her. And through me, she has now discovered Bottega Louie and macarons. Today was definitely the day I've been needing for awhile.

3 Things:

1.) I love my friends.
2.) Days spent thrifting/vintage shopping and eating tacos are the absolute best.
3.) I'm obsessed with my vest.

Friday was a pretty spectacular day. My friends and I spent the entire day jumping from one bargain to another. We ended up leaving several stores with bags of inexpensive pieces of vintage. We also stopped in Shareen's where I found the most magnificent dress. I want to go back to shop for some weddings I'll be going to in the next couple of months. I cannot wait to style all the unique things I found. That last picture pretty much sums it all up.
As you can see my outfit was pretty much inspired by Isabel Marant. I am so beyond in love with everything from her line. But of course, I don't have $450 to spend on pink shorts, so I try to substitute it for something much less. Always love me a good bargain.

I am officially on Spring Break! Possibly the last spring break of my life. I have been for the past two days, but I'm barely blogging tonight, because I went to my hometown to spend some time with the family. So the 4 of us went to Old Town Pasadena, which used to be the ultimate haunt for Geo and me before we moved to the San Fernando Valley. It has so many stores that I love, but wow-be proud of me-I actually didn't buy a single thing. I was very close to getting a pair of Steve Madden platforms, which were on sale, but unfortunately (or fortunately-depending on which way you look at it) the store did not have one in my size. Oh well, I guess it was never meant to be.

Earlier that day, my sister and I went thrifting...which was way overdue! Although, no matter how much I love thrifting, and especially all the bargains I end up getting from it, I still love flea markets more. Maybe it has something to do with being out in the open, and not having to feel like you're being suffocated by all the dust that's surrounding. Nevertheless, I managed to find a white sequined tunic/dress and an oversized cardigan a la MK Olsen-all for under $8. How about that!!!

I had an amazing two days so far. I just wish my babe wasn't working all week. I'll figure out something to do...I'll be in Bev. Hills on Tuesday with my friend Danielle. So that should be fun. Other than that, my spring break is up in the air. Ahh, gone are the days of ULTIMATE SPRING BREAKS. Who am I kidding-it was never really my thing to begin with. :p

P.S. Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments guys! You are so awesome, and I adore reading each and every one of your blogs! You have all certainly made blogging much more fun for me, and I truly appreciate your sweetness! xoxo
