Show 'em what you're worth

Well today was an amazing day. I feel like I say that a lot on this blog-but today really was tops. I accompanied my best friend Kate to the bride expo in Downtown this morning to peruse wedding vendors and such. Those things are always so hit and miss. I think she got a lot of great information though, and we got a couple of cute photo booth pics to take home with us. Those are always fun. And since we were in town-we thought we might as well have lunch at Bottega Louie. I absolutely love the decor and style of that place. It was basically an old bank revamped to look like a restaurant-so it has that nice mix of industrial and retro at the same time. I ordered the eggs benedict and Kate had the portobello fries. You read correctly. Deep fried mushroom goodness...I was in heaven. Speaking of heaven...I had been looking for macarons EVERYWHERE in this damned city. And we finally found some-Kate and I were freaking out in the bakery-and people were staring, but we didn't give a hoot. I love my best friend. She's pretty much my soulmate.

GIve me them bright lights, long nights...

After the longest (and I do mean, LONGEST) week of my life; having battled through the first day of school, a 101 degree fever, a severe sore throat, an audition for Anything Goes, a callback for Anything Goes, and finally getting cast, whilst coughing, dripping and congested. Needless to say, a day of rest is much needed. I am very proud of George for getting cast as Moonface, while I get to play an Angel named Purity. Obviously it's not my first choice-but at least I'll get to wear amazing costumes and strut my stuff.

Apart from that I missed the Inauguration. I was sick in bed, drowning in my fever. But luckily Geo tivo'd it and I will be seeing it as soon as I have some kind of break.

I'm very happy to hear about all the great things our new President has done so far for our country. And he's only been there 3 days! It's quite amazing.

Off to make dinner with the lovebug...more to come when I'm not high on medication. And when I have more to say.

Taking Advantage

So whilst I thought my downtown LA trip was going to be amazing yesterday afternoon, I instead, was totally slapped in the face.

As we strolled down Santee Alley, I discovered that

1.) It isn't smart to shop in downtown LA in 100 degree weather.
2.) Cheap almost always does not necessarily mean good.
3.) Santee Alley is far from cheap. geez!

I did get a cheap bamboo plant as a gift from my mom for me and Geo's new place.
