3.3.12

Twas an extraordinary day. My best friend in the whole wide world married the love of her life. To say that this has been a long time coming would be an understatement. They had been together even before she became my best. In fact, I remember the first time I met AJ...it was on our first double date, which Kate and I had been planning unbeknownst to our gentlemen for quite some time. We figured we got along so well, that why wouldn't all 4 of us. Right off the bat, it was easy. He was just as welcoming as she was, and it was plain to see-these two were made for one another. We helped them move into their first home in 2009. Then she texted me when he proposed in Santa Barbara in 2010. And now, a year and a half later-they are Mr. and Mrs. Jennings. This wedding journey with my best friend has been such a thrill to watch. It's an amazing feeling to be there for someone you care about so much, that you would do anything and everything to make them happy. We did everything-from bridal conventions, to running errands, to staying up til nearly 2 in the morning the night before the big day, helping out every which way. I do it because I love her, and I wanted nothing more than to have the day go by without a hitch. And needless to say, it was perfect. The weather was beautiful, the wind died down, and the home they purchased nearly 3 years ago was transformed into a romantic, gothic castle of love.
There is really no one else in the world more perfect than Adam is for Kate, and vice versa. When you look at them, you think-that is the truest of true loves. So as her best friend-I am just pleased as punch, because I know that there is nothing to worry about. Someone I care about and love is going to be cared for and loved for the rest of her life.

He loves her "more than the moon."

I know what you all are thinking... "Finally, an outfit post!" It's been quite awhile. I don't think I've done  an outfit post the entire month of February and for that I apologize. This morning, Maeghan and I went super thrifting. She always takes me to the greatest places, these hidden gems-that I could spend hours digging through. I found some amazing pieces that I cannot wait to showcase on here. We both ended up wearing velvet kimonos, which was funny. Great minds think alike :)
This has been quite a busy month for me. My best friend is getting married in TWO DAYS! I loved being able to be apart of such a beautiful process. Helping her in any way I can has been the greatest feeling, because I just want her to have the best day. I cannot wait for Saturday!
Oh, and if anyone is wondering what my shirt says-it's a Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet:

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume. The sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite.

I know I haven't blogged an outfit post in a long time. In all honesty, most mornings I just throw on the easiest and comfiest clothes I can find, and rush out the door. But I guess I wasn't expecting I would actually have subscribers, un-subscribe from me because of it. It was kind of a low blow to my ego. I guess I have to pick up the pace. I promise an outfit post will come soon. But for now, I leave you with some photos from the past week.

1.) Freshly curled hair for Valentine's Day
2.) Date with my Maeghan, at an amazing Ramen noodle restaurant which had the most delish iced green tea.
3.) Typical work day-Soy chai from Starbucks, Lana Del Rey playing, and finding Josh Hutcherson in my new ELLE.
4.) Free cream puffs
5.) Vday bestie date at Cafe Bizou. Had the yummiest salad!
6.) Me and my Valentine. Cheers!
7.) Their bread pudding is the best. I have dreams about it.
8.) Matching manicures and heart rings.
9.) Hubby's gift for me. New iPhone case!
10.) A late Valentine's Day dinner date with the love of my life at Gyu Kaku. Happy Hour!!

Hope you all had a beautiful Valentine's Day, filled with lots of love.

Last night I finally got to hang out with my best friend, Kate, whom I haven't seen in 42 days. She was on a work trip for the entire month of December, so we never got a chance to see each other around the holidays like we usually do each year. Seeing her was worth the wait. We exchanged our Christmas gifts, looked at all her wedding plans, and sat silently. Sometimes, that's all we need. Just a couple hours of hanging around and not particularly doing anything is what we do best. And that's what makes her my best friend. She knows me better than anyone I know, enough to know that we can have the greatest time doing nothing and yet have it feel like everything.

I love you, Bester. I'm so looking forward to the next couple weeks so much!! In just 8 short weeks, you're going to be married, and I can't wait to be right by your side through it all!

xoxo

P.S. Yes, that is the House of Harlow starburst necklace. It was her Christmas gift to me, and I'm absolutely in love with it. She knows me so well.

Hope you guys had a great Halloween! I sure did! My best friend made us an incredible dinner (chicken pot pie), and then we hopped on over to her sister's best friend's house for a low key Halloween shindig. Great people, great food, great times!

I've been wanting to dress up as Edie Sedgwick, one of my fashion icons, for a very long time. And this year, I finally got a chance to...I already had practically everything in my closet-which made the decision much easier. All I needed was the blonde wig. It was nice being blonde for a night. :)

More pics from the amazing birthday weekend I had with my friends. I promise this is my last birthday post...
Siera (my birthday twin and one of my best friends) celebrated her birthday the following evening at her favorite spot The Edendale in Silverlake. I had never been there before, and it's always so nice to discover new places. It's quite exceptional, from the aesthetic to the drinks to the photo booth-I had such a great time, and I hope she did too. Oh, and can I just say-best calamari I've ever had in my life.

The next day, Geo took me to Universal Studios to celebrate since I practically didn't see him at all that week due to conflicting schedules. Apart from a wonderful birthday morning when he made me my favorite breakfast (double chocolate chip pancakes), this was the only day we were both available to have some fun! We had the best time being there, with it being a ghost town. It makes me not want to go to a theme park in the middle of summer ever again.

I had an amazing start to my 26th. I just hope it keeps getting better from here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
My birthday dinner could not have been anymore perfect than it was. My best friend Kate had a handful of surprises up her sleeve, and it began the minute I walked into the restaurant. The whole table had been decorated by her fiance with pink boxes that contained cupcakes, bags of candy, and balloons! I was so shocked, I literally had to pause to take it all in as soon as I saw it. Her birthday gift to me was a Michael Kors watch I had been dreaming about for awhile, complete with engraving in the back. So touched. And finally, my birthday cake consisted of chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes, which she baked herself. Dessert also included an entire box of macarons, because she knows I'm obsessed. The whole evening was absolutely lovely, and I am so grateful to have her in my life. Looks like I gotta step it up for her birthday next year ;) xoxo
