The Path Is Straight

My honey has been working on a musical- Sondheim's Into the Woods-for the past couple months, his last at CSUN. Last night, the long-awaited day too see it had arrived. Every time I'd hear him practicing around the house, the more excited I became. And last night, proved even more to me how lucky I am. He really is the most talented man I know, and is so deserving of everything. I'm gushing, I know but I can't help it. I was so proud last night-of him and my girl Danielle! The show was above and beyond everything I had ever seen. And I know I was in the last two prior musicals he directed (Tommy and Anything Goes), but as a whole, this is the best cast Garry Lennon's ever had.

The fam bam came with me last night, including my sister's friend Eddie, my girlfriend Reena, and my best friend Kate-so Geo had an amazing cheering section. Afterward, we went to Chili's to get some food in our starving bellies, and just hung around. It was a magical, perfect evening. I really can't wait to see the show again.

You've left me speechless...

These pictures were taken this past Sunday. Kristina and I ventured out to my favorite shopping destination-the Fairfax Flea Market. She had never been there before, and was super excited to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, neither of us were disappointed. I found a very cute, vintage polka dot dress, a leather jacket for the hubby, and Kristina found A LOT of things. Including a Karl Lagerfeld tee which I have to go back for as soon as I can go there, because I've been obsessing over it for the past couple days.
To refuel, we decided to go to Lemonade for lunch. We both had never been there- but it's been on my list of places to eat for a long time. So we thought, hey-why not? This place was a total win. Not only was the food healthy and exceptional, but it was also inexpensive and they have $1 cupcakes! I wish I had gotten 2! Anyway, that's definitely a place I would love to take George one of these days. Another plus from the trip? We saw Nora Zehetner-a super adorable Indie actress who was in Brick with Joseph Gordon Levitt (among other films). Yes, she was just as beautiful in person-perhaps even more so.

On other news...rather really upsetting news...I just found out my old school is doing not one but TWO musicals for their upcoming season. One being Cabaret! I think I cried for about an hour when I found out. Perhaps, this is a little dramatic...but since Cabaret is the reason I fell in love with musical theatre, and it's a song I had been singing since I was 5-it's only fair, I get to throw a tantrum. Sigh. Oh well, if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be...and I can't do anything else about it. But to prove to myself that I would make a perfect Sally Bowles, I'll just have to watch this video over and over and over...

Here to stay

Amanda Seyfried Icons <3

The new girl crush. I mean, really...Amanda Seyfried is seriously stunning. I've also had her song "Little House" on constant repeat. So, explanation? Ever since Kate and I saw Dear John last weekend, I was hooked. We both were. As far as the movie goes, nothing will ever beat The Notebook in my opinion (and Rachel McAdams will forever be my acting hero because of that film), but Dear John was immensely satisfying. I thought she and Channing Tatum had a really great natural chemistry, and even HE surprised me-acting wise. So, I would definitely recommend this movie. Anyway, I just thought I'd share.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Am I gonna be alright?

headshot

My current headshot, isn't even really my headshot. I got headshots done last summer with this extremely kind woman, named Mary Ann Halpin. I liked the way it turned out, but unfortunately the pictures just don't look like me anymore. I'll still use them for distribution purposes because I don't want to waste the money and time I spent getting them. But I'm pretty sure I should get new ones in the future. So for now, this should suffice. This came from a photo shoot I did with the lovely Danielle Palomares in 2008. Luckily, this looks more like me than my most recent headshots-so I figured why not?
Just spent the last 4 hours getting myself prepared to start my acting career. It's sort of been put on the back-burner for awhile now, because of certain life-altering situations...but I'm ready. I feel like I've waited long enough. If all goes well, I should have an audition for an original musical this week. Crossing fingers.

Dangerous and Sweet

Happy Halloween!

This pic is from 4 years ago, when Geo and I were in a monster musical together as Dracula and Natasha. One of my favorite Halloween get-ups ever. Hope you all have a fun-filled evening!

Last night we trekked over to Santa Monica to see Danielle in a production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She was absolutely wonderful in it. And it was so incredible to see her because it had been two months since we last saw each other. Two months too long, if you ask me! I missed her terribly. But hopefully now that she's done with the musical, we'll have more time to savor the summer. I love my friends!
