A little pack of fire

After months of careful deliberation, I finally found the PERFECT utility jacket, or field jacket, or army jacket. Whatever the name may be. I just love the rugged look it provides, while still being able to dress it up. I found it at GAP, on sale, and the moment I put it on I knew. I can't wait to wear it constantly during my trip, with all of my lacey tops and cut-offs.

You spin my head right round...

I feel like I blog about Olivia Palermo at least once a month. Is that healthy? Well, I guess if you have a crush, you have a crush-and there's no denying that I have quite THE girl crush on her. How could you not?! These are some pictures taken of her during Paris Fashion Week.

But now, onto the more important things...shopping.

I intend to buy these (items similar to these) in the very near future. I think I need them in my life this season.
1.) Leopard coat. My love for leopard will never cease. Besides, I wanna channel Edie Sedgwick in a big way this fall/winter.
2.) Nude pump. I saw a pair that I died over at Nordies the other day. Might have to get it.
3.) Wildfox Couture shirts. They're so soft, but my God, they do break the bank.
4.) Sideways Cross Necklace. Remember mine? Well, it died. Actually it's been dead for quite some time now due to me being lazy and wearing it to bed-I accidentally pulled on it during a bad dream. I haven't gotten around to fixing it. But I need to. I miss it.
5.) Burgandy lipstick. Must have.
6.) Leather shorts. Oh my, these have been on my list since the summer. But now, I can wear them with tights which is even better.
7.) Black lacey bra. To wear underneath pretty much everything. Especially my sheer billowy tops.
8.) Combat/Military boots. I already have a pair in khaki, but you really can't go wrong with having a black pair.
9.) Rose Gold bf watch. Again...has been on my lust list for awhile. Gotta have.
10.) NARS blush in orgasm. It really is THE best blush in the world. And for $25, it sure as hell better be.
11.) Camel satchel. I'm all about structure and chicness. And this brings the best of both worlds.
12.) YSL ring. I think I'm getting this for Christmas from a certain special someone. He knows just what I like. ;)

Would you feel anything at all?

It's been a crazy last couple of days! So much has happened, I can't even keep track. Last Thursday, we went over to the Groundlings Theatre on Melrose to see my friend Ashley perform. I hadn't seen her in so long, and wanted to go support-so there we were-me, Geo, Josie and Dan. It was a great night full of laughs, tears, and friendship. And I can't wait to hang out with them again.

Then, the craziest but happiest of news...my best friend Kate just got engaged!! I actually have two friends that are now engaged, because Danielle got engaged two weeks ago. I am so beyond happy for them both. I still haven't even given Danielle a congratulatory hug yet, let alone seen the ring in person-which I'm sure is just stunning. Kate told me through bbm, while I was at work-and literally screamed my head off. This was such a long time coming. And I'm just ecstatic that I have these 2 amazing upcoming weddings I get to help plan.

Finally, on Sunday-we trekked over to Wokcano to celebrate my sister going away to college in a couple weeks. I don't know why that's cause for a celebration, because I sure as hell won't be celebrating once she leaves. It's going to be really tough on me. But that night was filled with so much love and laughter, and it was definitely great being there with my cousins to wish my sister all the best... I don't want the 16th to arrive just yet. :(

P.S. My Olivia ring arrived yesterday. It's so much more beautiful and heavier in person. Just as I imagined. I'm in love. :)

When the morning comes...

What's been going on lately...

Last week Geo and I celebrated another year together. We went over to Burbank and saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which was actually a lot better than I expected. Then we ate at one of our fave restaurants there, Market City Cafe. Such amazing food, and they have the greatest breadsticks. I literally crave those breadsticks some days.

A few days later we celebrated my mom's birthday. And we trekked over to the new Santa Monica Place to check out the action. It was sort of bittersweet for me, because it had amazing shops, but way too many people. I would definitely come back though, when the hype dies down.

P.S. I feel like I'm sorta channeling Olivia Palermo with the 2nd outfit. Now, all that's missing is that ring I ordered!

(Olivia Palermo for ASOS Magazine)

By now, I'm sure all of you know-there is no denying how much I adore Olivia Palermo.  If I could be anybody else on the planet right now, it would be her-minus the being misunderstood and hated part. Haters gotta hate-even though they don't know squat!
The editorial as you can see showcases her in a very special way- that being her knack for street style. The styling for the shoot is and she just looks so stunning in every single shot.  And having been a fan of Asos for awhile, I was very pleased to see the two finally collaborate. I hope this cover is the first of many for Olivia, who is so deserving of all the recognition she receives.

Here is a behind the scenes look:

Valentino/Elie Saab/Valentino

Just some of my fave looks from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Of course, it features the lovely Olivia Palermo, because I'm obsessed. I'm so excited she attended. I died over the Valentino numbers, especially the first one. It sorta reminds me of the dress I've been lusting over at work. Granted it's a much smaller, more manageable dress than the one she's wearing, but there's just something about it. I cannot wait to get it and show it to all of you. Anyway, just a sweet little post before work. Hope you like :)

With your James Dean glossy eyes

I slept over my parent's house last night, to see my sister perform in her high school talent show. The show itself was mostly lackluster, but she was absolutely amazing. She belted out Lady Gaga's Speechless to an auditorium filled wall-to-wall with people, who were just as enraptured by her performance as I was-sealing the deal was the standing ovation at the end of it.  I was so overcome with emotion, that I started crying. I think it was because I had never seen my sister more confident than I had seen her last night. She always said I was the only one of the two of us who really had something in the performance area. But I always disagreed, and last night proved it.

The outfit is a little boring, I know. I was sorta channeling, who else, Olivia Palermo. And I figured out something...as much as I love Brogues, I just don't know if my body type looks ok with it. I feel like it shortens me. So I borrowed my sister's lavender Steve Madden ones for the evening. I guess perhaps if it was a different color of if I was wearing a dress, it would work better. What do you guys think?

Give me liberty...

Photobucket

Showing off my recent purchases, because well I'm quite obsessed with both. I haven't gotten anything for myself in quite a long time, so I felt I deserved a little bit of happiness. Even if that happiness  comes from retail therapy. I showed quite a bit of restraint the other day-only getting the 2 things I've had my eye on since word got out.

1.) H&M Garden Collection Floral Kimono dress
2.) Liberty of London for MAC lipstick in Ever Hip

The dress is quite outstanding in person. This picture and all other promo pics don't do it justice. I adore all things flowy and comfortable.  And I just feel like running through the fields in this. The lipstick is a peachy coral color that comes on pretty sheer with just a hint of color. I thought it was going to be brazenly coral but it doesn't leave my lips looking that way at all. Both items are getting me really revved up for spring!

Another treat was seeing this on Twitter:
All I have to say, is that MTV certainly knows how to edit well enough to always make Olivia look like the bad guy, and Whitney Port the poor helpless angel. I like to think they focus on that more, because well if it wasn't for Olivia-The City probably wouldn't even be continuing due to their lead's bland personality. Oh well, perhaps I'm just being biased...as Kristina commented in one of my previous posts- "You'd probably marry Olivia Palermo if you could..." Well, yes, yes-maybe I would. Haha!

Before they turn the summer into dust

I knew this was coming for a long time. Needless to say, I'm super excited about it. I've seen a couple of her designs, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Not that I'm surprised! As one of my fashion muses, I knew full well that Olivia Palermo has a great eye for everything style. And accessories are definitely no exception. I'm a little disappointed about the price though, because obviously as a huge budgeter-I don't know if spending $175 on a necklace would be very practical for me. But who knows? She's wearing two of her designs in the pictures. Pretty beautiful, huh?

These were shot by my sissy's blackberry. Who would've known a tiny camera phone would be able to take such clear photos? Anyway, my weekend was spent with the fambam-which is always nice, because I rarely get to see them. Especially my sister. But yesterday we went to my cousin's baby shower, which was good, because we got to watch the Superbowl on their big screen tv. I just stuffed my face with cupcakes the whole time. They were so yummy! Makes me want one real bad right now. Lol! So much for my recent health kick.

Since Valentine's day is only a week away, I wanted to post a little love snack for all of you...
