Today was my sister's last day in LA. What's better than vintage shopping at an LA landmark-the Fairfax Flea Market and having lunch at Bottega Louie? The sun finally came out right when we got there, and the weather was just exceptionally beautiful. I was incredibly happy with our finds too. My sister made out like a bandit and was able to find a great pair of vintage brogues and a button down for only $15! My hubby got me the sunnies pictured above, and I finally found the perfect feather hair clip. I had been thinking about doing extensions for awhile-but I wanted to be able to take it out whenever I felt like it, so I thought a hair clip made more sense for me. Besides, I don't know if my workplace would've allowed it. The guy I found, custom made it for me-which meant I got to pick the length, how many feathers, and what kind of feathers went in it. I was incredibly pleased with the end result. My sister ordered hers about a month ago, and when she came over the other day-I just knew I had to have one too. Hehe. We ended the day with pizza, mimosas, and macarons. I don't think this day could've been any better.

 Happy Rainy Sunday.
This is as close to an outfit post as you're gonna get today, due to the fact that it was pouring all over the valley.  But I had an extremely beautiful day regardless because I got to spend time with my family. Lunch at Mexicali-probably one of my favorite restaurants in the area, then shopping. I feel like that's what me and my family do every time we see each other. Haha! My mom is a sweetheart and got me a couple things for my trip. Lots of beautiful pieces I cannot wait to wear.

Self portraits in the fitting room, and in my home. And in case any of you are curious, my shirt says-"I love you, yes I do" in francais. Probably the most comfortable shirt I own. :)

You're a sunbeam ray

Just wanted to share 2 of my most recent purchases. I love the feeling you get trying something on for the first time, and absolutely adoring the way it looks. That's what happened with these, and I just can't wait to put them on again. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait a little while because these purchases are for next month's anniversary trip with my love. I can't believe it's been almost 5 years. Time certainly does fly.

The apartment is coming along. We've really only got the bedroom to worry about. Right now it's in a bit of a state. But I love our artsy-fartsy style, and even though we've got very little space-we make it work, and everything has it's place. Most of the lamps you see here, were all made by one and only true. Yes, he is an incredibly talented human being who dabbles in all things creative. Notice the generic-looking lamp in the corner, that's not on? Well that one is from Ikea. It's the only lamp we own that we actually purchased, and I don't like it very much. Haha!

Yesterday was pretty perfect to be completely honest. I got to spend time with my sister, who I maybe see once a month now :(, and we ended up doing a little impromptu photo shoot. A big kudos goes to my mom who was patient enough to shoot 2 cameras that afternoon. I can't wait to see how the ones on her camera turned out. But really, it was such a gorgeous day-and I'm so happy I now have these amazing pictures of me and Victoria. I'm thinking of blowing one up poster-size to put in my office. Which one should it be? I can't get over how amazing my sister is. She's got more style in her pinky than anyone else I know. She knows her aesthetic and works it beautifully.

Later that evening I was extremely lucky to spend time with my best friend as well, whom I also haven't seen in awhile. Can you believe we used to live a stone's throw away from one another, and now we live 3 cities away? I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's a great distance when you're constantly working and busy with other things. But last night was the cd release party of The Absolute, which happens to be her little sister's boyfriend's band. They were absolutely amazing. Go check 'em out, if you guys get a chance!

P.S. There's nothing better than In-N-Out, when you're really hungry and everything else is closed.  xoxo

You got me good

The Oscars

To be completely honest, this was probably the best awards show-red carpet wise-I've seen in a long time. Everyone looked so beautiful, apart from a few disappointments (ahem-Nicole Kidman). But for the most part, everyone did such a fantastic job-really stepped it up. Here are my top 5 choices...

5.) Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein Collection-She looked bangin'! She was one of the first people on the red carpet and she really had jaws dropping. I was blown away by how beautiful she looked. If I could hope for any type of body right now-hers would be it.

4.) Mila Kunis in Elie Saab-I mean come on! She is so hot, it's almost unfair. She looked so ethereal and romantic, which we don't see from her a lot. But the lavender is stunning, and I love how it hugged her body.

3.) Natalie Portman in Rodarte-I'm so glad she chose Rodarte instead of Dior (which was her rumored dress in the beginning) because Kate and Laura Mulleavy know exactly how to dress their friend to a T. The color was stunning on her, and this was definitely my favorite look from her throughout the whole awards season.

2.) Mandy Moore in Monique Lhoullier- I saw the dress first, and I gasped. Then she turned around, saw it was Mandy, and gasped even louder. I have NEVER seen her look this stunning, ever! She is so breathtakingly beautiful, and she has been looking so good lately. That dress...my God-it looks like it was painted on her.

1.) Michelle Williams in Chanel-This is the 2nd time I've chosen Michelle as my top girl. The first being the mustard one she wore when she was nominated for Brokeback. Those pictures of her and Heath will forever be some of my favorite pictures on a red carpet ever. But there's something so demure and delicate about this one, I just knew it was perfect. The hair and makeup was stunning too.

I hope you all enjoyed the Oscars as much as I did.
Team King's Speech!! xoxo
