I know what you all are thinking... "Finally, an outfit post!" It's been quite awhile. I don't think I've done  an outfit post the entire month of February and for that I apologize. This morning, Maeghan and I went super thrifting. She always takes me to the greatest places, these hidden gems-that I could spend hours digging through. I found some amazing pieces that I cannot wait to showcase on here. We both ended up wearing velvet kimonos, which was funny. Great minds think alike :)
This has been quite a busy month for me. My best friend is getting married in TWO DAYS! I loved being able to be apart of such a beautiful process. Helping her in any way I can has been the greatest feeling, because I just want her to have the best day. I cannot wait for Saturday!
Oh, and if anyone is wondering what my shirt says-it's a Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet:

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume. The sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite.

I could sparkle up your eye...

OSCARS 2012

I'm gonna start this off by saying, I was incredibly underwhelmed this year. Emma Stone, as much as I loved the dress probably wouldn't have been on this list-if there was someone else on the red carpet who completely blew my mind. Luckily the top 3 on this list surely did!

5.) Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli- It reminded me of Nicole Kidman's Balenciaga a couple years back. But she kept it fresh. And I love huge, dramatic bows so much that every time I see it on the red carpet, it puts a smile to my face.
4.) Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace-I love this dress and how simply stunning she looked, but good God-what was with the posing tonight? She just had to show off that leg every second she could. But this dress was so beautiful. I just adore velvet-it's such a unique texture for a gown.
3.) Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton-This was by far the best she looked this awards season. Love the coral peachy color, which didn't really come across as well on screen, as it does in pictures. The tiers and the ruffles just suit her delicate frame so nicely.
2.) Rooney Mara in Givenchy-I think she's found her designer. She's been wearing Givenchy on the red carpet a lot lately, and it's no surprise. The architectural yet ethereal way the dress looks is perfect. She probably has one of the most beautiful faces in Hollywood right now. And her makeup and hair suited this dress so well.
1.) Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen-She was the first person I saw on the red carpet, and I threw my hands up and said-"That's it!" As if no one could top it. And no one did. I was so surprised by her choice, because she usually opts for deep teals or pastels, and solid colors. I was definitely not expecting her to pull out McQueen. She looks so breathtaking, and during her red carpet interview-you can just tell she is probably the nicest person. Makes her that much more attractive.

Well, another awards season is over. And I always tell myself at the end of it, that perhaps I'll be on that red carpet one day. Until then, I quite enjoy doing this. Hopefully if/when I'm on that carpet in the future, I'll be on someone's best dressed list as well. Xoxo

I know I haven't blogged an outfit post in a long time. In all honesty, most mornings I just throw on the easiest and comfiest clothes I can find, and rush out the door. But I guess I wasn't expecting I would actually have subscribers, un-subscribe from me because of it. It was kind of a low blow to my ego. I guess I have to pick up the pace. I promise an outfit post will come soon. But for now, I leave you with some photos from the past week.

1.) Freshly curled hair for Valentine's Day
2.) Date with my Maeghan, at an amazing Ramen noodle restaurant which had the most delish iced green tea.
3.) Typical work day-Soy chai from Starbucks, Lana Del Rey playing, and finding Josh Hutcherson in my new ELLE.
4.) Free cream puffs
5.) Vday bestie date at Cafe Bizou. Had the yummiest salad!
6.) Me and my Valentine. Cheers!
7.) Their bread pudding is the best. I have dreams about it.
8.) Matching manicures and heart rings.
9.) Hubby's gift for me. New iPhone case!
10.) A late Valentine's Day dinner date with the love of my life at Gyu Kaku. Happy Hour!!

Hope you all had a beautiful Valentine's Day, filled with lots of love.

Yeaggy Couture

Working in fashion, it's usually apart of my job to find out what our city has to offer in terms of up and coming designers. Recently I was happy to discover Alexandra Yeaggy, an LA based designer specializing in couture fashions, who made her first red-carpet debut last Saturday at the 39th Annual Annie Awards.

For those who aren't aware-the Annie Awards are basically the Academy Awards of Animation. They judge and award the top animated films, shorts, TV shows of the past year. But this year was extra special, because Yeaggy Couture walked down the red carpet for the first time. Shown above are two of her designs, worn by Annie Awards announcer Dina Sherman and actress Diana Lansleen. Both dresses are one of a kind pieces made here in LA at the Yeaggy Couture Atelier.

I am so pleased that Alexandra is getting the recognition she deserves. She makes exquisite pieces that are not only unique, but you can tell are made with passion and years and years of training.  I have no doubt that we will be seeing more of her designs in the near future.

Tell me I'm your National Anthem

To say that I'm obsessed with Lana Del Rey would be a huge understatement. Ever since I heard her sing about 6 months ago, I knew she would be one to watch. Not to mention, look at that face! I've always been a fan of the retro Lolita look. Then, all of sudden her first single "Video Games" started playing on the radio-and now she's become a bona fide international superstar. Granted, her first national appearance on SNL, was a tad embarrassing ( I blame it on thrusting her into it way too early)...her new album definitely makes up for it. There is no denying the girl is friggin talented. I've never heard so many rhythmic changes in my life, until I heard this album. Consider my mind blown...I've probably listened to it about a million times since I got it last Tuesday.
