Keeping up Appearances

I'm savoring my two day break. I feel bad, because I've kind been slacking when it comes to school. And I've been so exhausted lately that I needed to take a mental health day today. Just kind of to recooperate before another round of Anything Goes begins again tomorrow night. Also, been kind of experiencing some friendship drama. This is the last thing I need two weeks before I graduate. But some people are real shady, and it's moments like these that make you stronger, and make you realize who your true friends are. That's all. It's a sad thing when a friend shows his/her true colors, and the only thing you can do is to fade them out of your life. I guess it was just never meant to be.

I love my mother-in-law. Within a week, she gave me these awesome vintage combat boots, and the Minnetonka lace-up fringe boots that I've been craving for awhile now. They're gorgeous, and I'm so ecstatic to have them. This outfit was yesterday's...it was really cold, and kinda gloomy, so I grabbed my go-to grandpa cardi and jetted out the door. It felt good to not have to burn my hair with curling irons, crimpers, and what-not.

p.s. I'm a total hypocrite and jack-hole, because I've succumbed to a twitter account. Man, Geo will be very disappointed. :p Please come follow me...

Bon Voyage

Long time no blog...I feel like it's been forever since I last posted an entry. It's not like I've had any time. As most of you know, just from reading my last entry, I've been heavily involved in tech week/opening weekend of my show Anything Goes! It's been amazing, and I feel so blessed to have been apart of such a great experience. For now the cast and crew have a two day break, and then come Wednesday-we're back on, running the show til next Sunday. For now, here's a taste of what I've been doing...

Can I just say how much I want this sequined dress! Almost all of our costumes were made from scratch! I can do without those bubblegum shoes though. lol.

Grabbing a midnight snack from Dennys with my girlfriends. We celebrated two of my best friends' birthdays as well.

Finally owning the faux-Alexander Wangs, I've been craving since they came out. The consensus is we are meant to be.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I'm sorry for the lack of outfits but they'll be back soon, I promise. xoxo

Sand Castle Disco

The title of my post makes absolutely no sense. But my friend Danielle was listening to the song, and I didn't feel like really thinking about what to title my blog. So here it is...unfortunately no outfit post today...and not for awhile actually, because hell week has started for Anything Goes. Not to mention, I have a huge paper and a presentation due this week. Yeah, I'm figuratively in hell.

Inspiration to get me through it...

spring

Happy Late Easter everybody. This is not what I wore. I was wearing a bright yellow dress, with a vintage-y looking cardigan, that wasn't really worth an outfit post. So, I decided to post what I wore today. Very relaxed, and just quite simple really. I didn't want to overdo my first day back from spring break. Needless to say, I still shocked quite a lot of people. I wish I was a little more into taking pictures today though. Sorry I look like a dork. I hope everyone had a great easter and had a lot of chocolate eggs. I sure did. :p

Also, this is way overdue but I was tagged last week by the lovely Esther to complete this survey. So enjoy!

What is your current obsession?
Eminem's/50 Cents' "Crack a Bottle"
Anything Sheer
Feathers

What is your weirdest obsession?
Olivia Palermo

What are you wearing today?
Look above.

Why is today special?
Because it's my first day back from Spring Break

What would you like to learn to do?
Bake from scratch. Especially since Geo and I just got a Kitchen-Aid power mixer.

Something fast and cheap. I have rehearsal.

What’s the last thing you bought?
I got my sequined tunic dress, and a huge cardigan from a thrift store.

Getting through tech week, and the weeks of the show.

She is a great style blogger, and is super sweet.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
San Francisco or London

Favorite vacation spot?
I love going to San Francisco. But I think I want to go somewhere warm for my next vaca.

A couple pounds.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?

What is your dream job?
Actor. Stylist. Makeup Artist.

If you had $100 now what would you spend it on?
Probably something from topshop.

Fashion pet peeve?
I hate anything cookie-cutter. I like to actually think and put things together. So anything too easy, means it's not meant to be. But my absolute biggest pet peeve is uggs and miniskirts. eww.

Spring Break has been going great so far. Yesterday, my friend Danielle and I went over to Beverly Hills to get her hair chopped off. We got there kinda early so we waltzed over to Rodeo Drive, pretended we were tourists, and took a bunch of random pictures. I wish I had some kind of professional camera to really capture the beauty of that place. Rodeo Drive has always been kind of a dream-like place for me. Even as a child, I didn't know if it really did exist-it's so clean, so white, so shiny. But it does exist, and now I'll forever have proof.

At the Kevin Josephson salon, Janice Dickinson walks in and starts obnoxiously mouthing off like she owned the place. You know how people wonder if strong tv personalities act the same way away from the camera? Well in her case-it's true. She is EXACTLY the same as she is on her show, and on America's Next Top Model. Sheesh. I wanted to video her, but didn't for fear of getting bitch-slapped in the process. Whatever. The experience was still kind of awesome.

Lunch was at Panini Cafe, which was actually our 2nd choice. We wanted to eat at Le Pain Quotidien, but it was crowded, and kinda noisy, so off we went disappointed. But Panini Cafe was very very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my falafel wrap (as you can see from the picture!). It was a gorgeous day, but incredibly windy. I'm not sure if the shorts were such a good idea.

Cute story about the scarf though...so the other day-George comes home from helping his mom pack up for her move, and presents me with an Hermes box. I open it up and in it was this gorgeous coral silk scarf. I think I just about died it was so beautiful. I called my mother-in-law right away to thank her, and she tells me she got in 1960 in Cannes, when Hermes first opened up there. It was supposed to be for her mother, but she didn't want it. So she saved it in her closet, until she found someone to give it to, who would really love it. I died all over again. Not only am I the proud owner of an Hermes scarf, but its also one of the originals straight from one of the first Hermes stores EVER! Needless to say, my spring break has been shaping up quite nicely.

Also, I'll be doing a questionairre post soon. It's really hard to be able to answer everyone's questions from the comments box, so this is your opportunity to ask me anything you feel. And I will dedicate an entire post to it. So ask away...xoxo

I am officially on Spring Break! Possibly the last spring break of my life. I have been for the past two days, but I'm barely blogging tonight, because I went to my hometown to spend some time with the family. So the 4 of us went to Old Town Pasadena, which used to be the ultimate haunt for Geo and me before we moved to the San Fernando Valley. It has so many stores that I love, but wow-be proud of me-I actually didn't buy a single thing. I was very close to getting a pair of Steve Madden platforms, which were on sale, but unfortunately (or fortunately-depending on which way you look at it) the store did not have one in my size. Oh well, I guess it was never meant to be.

Earlier that day, my sister and I went thrifting...which was way overdue! Although, no matter how much I love thrifting, and especially all the bargains I end up getting from it, I still love flea markets more. Maybe it has something to do with being out in the open, and not having to feel like you're being suffocated by all the dust that's surrounding. Nevertheless, I managed to find a white sequined tunic/dress and an oversized cardigan a la MK Olsen-all for under $8. How about that!!!

I had an amazing two days so far. I just wish my babe wasn't working all week. I'll figure out something to do...I'll be in Bev. Hills on Tuesday with my friend Danielle. So that should be fun. Other than that, my spring break is up in the air. Ahh, gone are the days of ULTIMATE SPRING BREAKS. Who am I kidding-it was never really my thing to begin with. :p

Leighton Meester in CK boots. Jealousy ensues. She looks amazing as always.

P.S. Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments guys! You are so awesome, and I adore reading each and every one of your blogs! You have all certainly made blogging much more fun for me, and I truly appreciate your sweetness! xoxo

Doot doot doot! It's hot, which means I get to wear dresses again! I feel like such a bohemian princess! The headband I'm wearing btw, is a belt I've had for ages. I got it at this little run-down thrift store when I was like 13! And it's still unbelievably chic! I'm amazed at how many times I've used it over the years. So... a little story about the blue dress. It's a major cleavage dress, and I don't usually go for pieces like that, but my best friend and I were out shopping the other day, and practically shoved it down my throat. Granted it does look awesome on me, and I love the vibrancy of the color, but I don't know if I'll wear it often. Although, if this heat keeps on, I probably won't have much of a choice.

Pissed off, at the fact that Gossip Girl just returned with new episodes and now it's back on hiatus again for another 3 weeks. What is up with that?! Oh well, it'll probably be worth the wait. This season has been so good. I'm definitely purchasing the dvd when it comes out.
