I know this post is 5 days late, I realize. But I just got back from our trip to Palm Springs, where I had little to sometimes none at all, internet. Needless to say, writing up a new post would've been extremely difficult given my circumstances. However, Christmas Eve/Day was a blast. I got to spend the first half with my family. And then drove (in the middle of the night) to Palm Springs to celebrate with my mother-in-law and her best friend, Robin. We had a grand time, ate quite a bit, and were completely spoiled with presents/food.

Finally got to see Sherlock Holmes, which I had been dying to watch ever since I heard Robert Downey Jr. was in talks to play the witty detective. Needless to say, I was very entertained. And fully reaffirmed my undying devotion and love to RDJ. Yes, I just abbreviated his name-it's far too long to write out yet again.

I have the best hubs in the world, who fully recognizes and understands my love for another man apart from himself...unless of course, I ever do a movie with him (which I plan on happening in the future)-then, not so much ;p

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas with your loved ones. I sure did.

I don't care too much for money

This season has left me broke. And I mean broker than broke. I mean, eating ramen after Christmas broke. But that's okay, there are other things on my mind. Things to be happy about...

Stylish couples: ie Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson. Either casual or on the red carpet-these two always get it just right.

American Apparel's new line of nail polish. I've developed quite a collection over the last few months. I try to change up my nail color every month. And I think I'd like to add that mint green one to my brood.

My Father-in-law's American Gothic album. If you haven't listened to any of David Ackles' music, you should-because you're really missing out. Me and my babe's personal favorite-"Love's Enough." Available on iTunes.

The promise I've kept to myself that I WILL be spending at least one Christmas in Paris sometime in my life...

My very best girls. What can I say? I got very lucky with these 5. I couldn't have asked for a better group to stand with me through all of the important times in my life. Each very beautiful and unique in their own way-and I feel so grateful to have them in my life.

My sister. My longest best friend, who has been with me since I was 6 years old. I am so happy to see her tomorrow.

And lastly, this man. Now, that's a face I can happily look at for the rest of my life.

I hope you all have a great holiday! Merry Christmas! I look forward to seeing all of your Christmas posts!

And a partridge in a pear tree...

5 days left before Christmas. And I am incredibly excited. Last friday, Alli and I went over to the Sherman Oaks Galleria to take our yearly "Tree Pic." It was extra special this time around, because there were giant cupcakes and ice cream cones. I felt like I was 6 years old-running around taking pictures, sucking on a candy cane. But it was pure magic, and loved every minute of it. Especially since the hubby and I are moving to Burbank/Pasadena area next month. And so Alli and I will have to find another big tree to take a picture in front of, that's sorta in the middle of where we both live.

I leave you with a Christmassy picture of our home. We didn't get a tree this year, but we do what we can to make it festive.

Our bedroom.
I wore this super casual, super comfortable, super bummish outfit to dinner the other night at my best friend Kate's house. We had a really amazing double date with our respective lovers-ate another Thanksgiving meal, played games, baked cookies, drank wine...it was exactly what I needed. Perfect evening, with amazing people.

What I adore about the holiday season...Christmas shopping with great friends. The other day, Siera, Kristina and I went to Burbank to finish up the gift giving and to catch up on some much needed girl time. God knows I've needed it. And it's always so much fun to be around them. I feel so lucky.

On another note, Esther from the lovely Rhapsody in Boots was sweet enough to give me an award for blogging. Thank you so much, Esther, I truly appreciate it.

In order to fully accept the award, I have to state 7 random facts about myself...so here it goes!

1.) I love to cook. If I had an infinite amount of ingredients for me to access on a daily basis-I'd probably be cooking 24/7.
2.) I used to have a much edgier sense of style. If you ask my hubby, how I was when he first met me, he'd concur that I did. I would wear the weirdest things!
3.) When I was younger, I always thought I would grow up to be a singer/songwriter. And then, acting came along, and I never looked back.
4.) I miss singing. I mean, really singing.
5.) 4 years ago, I had a mohawk. And I rocked it.
6.) I cry at Hallmark commercials.
7.) I would secretly love to work at a TJ Maxx just to get all the deals!

And now I nominate:

Siera
Kristina
Alli
Carrie
Cindy
Tara
Sushi

Here are the rules:
1.
Thank/Link the person who nominated you for this award;

2. Copy the award and place it on your blog;
3. Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself;
4. Nominate 7 bloggers and post their links.

Last Sunday, my best friend Alli and I decided to peruse the Fairfax Flea Market for some Christmas deals. So we got an early start, grabbed some Starbucks and headed on over the hill. It was a really really cold day. I completely underestimated how cold it would be. And while I thought I was dressed appropriately enough-I was still "brr-ing" like crazy.
For the most part, the trip was completely successful. We got a couple things for ourselves, of course, but I was also able to find something incredibly unique for my sister. At one of the tents, I got really taken by the 20s boudoir looking, handmade headbands. I promised the lady I would come back and buy it, but I never did. And I still kinda feel bad about it. I do want to come back, when I have a little more money and get the one pictured above. But all in all, it was a very cold but very good day!

Love that line from Paramore's Only Exception. It's been on constant repeat ever since Siera told me about it. One of my fave songs of the moment, that's for sure.
I wore this outfit out last night, to see Six Characters In Search of an Author. It was directed by one of my past professors, so I was curious to see it and wanted to come out and support. Especially after everything that had happened, with their leading lady dying from a motorcycle accident over the Thanksgiving holiday. It's tragic...but you know what they say in theatre-"The show must go on" and on it did. I commend the cast for all of their hard work and willingness to complete the run. It was truly touching to see.

Never been much of a fan of Rachel Bilson's acting, but I have been a follower of her style for quite some time now. And I must say, her editorial for Asos magazine is smoking. Love the styling, love the hair, love the makeup-it's just all around stunning.

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like...

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I was lucky enough to have two Thanksgivings this year...These pictures were taken during the first half with my family. And unfortunately I didn't get a chance to snap some pictures over at my 2nd family. It was more of an intimate setting anyway, unlike the hustle and bustle of my parents' house. Let's just say we're a little more unconventional. My dad cooked lamb, salmon and we had shrimp cocktails as appetizers as opposed to turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce (It's okay- we had all that at his side). Although I love having the two Thanksgivings-I have to say I am very much looking forward to the year when we can combine our families and just have ONE big dinner. But all in all though, Geo and I had a great time filling our tummies up with delicious food, and enjoyed the company we had surrounding us. I was extremely thankful.

The next day, my family and I embarked on the treacherous journey that is Black Friday. The first Christmas shopping day for me. And this year we did it at the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica. Better than the mall right? Wrong! It was jam packed with tourists and moms with their toddlers. It was just a zoo full of people, and not a lot of room to walk around. I could barely breathe in most of the stores! It left me feeling exhausted and extremely disappointed. I'm just glad it's over. Perhaps, I'll skip out on Black Friday next year. lol.

Somebody To Love

I love Leighton Meester. I think she's a fairly talented actress, with a hit tv show under her belt. I love her fashion sense...most times. And I feel like she has potential of being a huge star one day...but she really, really, needs to just stick to acting.

In other news, I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday! I know I will. Food coma and early Christmas shopping, here we come!

Come as you are...

So excited when I saw Rumi Neely of Fashiontoast wearing the sideways cross necklace I have! She actually got it from the same place I did, except she got it in the larger cross version, and Geo ordered the smaller cross for me. I'm quite obsessed with mine-I literally wear it everywhere! Such a standout piece. <3

I know everyone is going to see New Moon tonight, well I know at least 3 people who are. I'm mildly interested only because I read the books. But, not so much in seeing Kristen Stewart "act" for 2 hours. :/

I had an amazing half weekend with my family in Monrovia. Thai food, The Kitchen and shopping in Pasadena, and Starbucks at the crack of dawn. It was loads of fun, and obviously I always enjoy spending more time with my partner in crime aka Seester. Ain't she the coolest? Much cooler than me, that's for sure. ;p

P.S. I kinda sorta lightened my hair. It's hard to see, because I went from being jet black, so it's really difficult to change up, but right now, it's sort of a golden chestnut. I don't know if you guys can tell from the pics. To me, it doesn't look very different.

Some of my favorite looks for fall...

a. Leather (still looking for the perfect one)
b. Leopard ( and THE perfect leather jacket imo, but it's Rick Owens and costs more than my rent-therefore not possible)
c.) Boyfriend Blazer (I love that hers isn't black)
d. Sophisticated with bright colors (my ideal look for all family get-togethers this holiday season)

Sigh...xoxo
